Jon Cook, PT, DPT, MBA, Chief Executive Officer

Jon is a native of northern Arizona, born in Flagstaff and raised in Winslow. After graduating from Winslow High School, Jon earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science and later his doctoral degree in physical therapy from Northern Arizona University. He also has earned an MBA in healthcare leadership. After graduating, Jon went to work for Northern Arizona Healthcare as a physical therapist, and later moved into management, serving as the director of EntireCare.

Jon joined the RHNA team in June of 2021. He is happy to give back to the communities in which he was raised by striving to build a hospital that not only provides high quality care for it’s patients, but also is a preferred place of employment. Jon’s philosophy is to give respect to all people. Jon also believes that healthcare providers are in a position in which they can develop positive relationships with their patients in order to give them the care and education they need in order to optimize their health. Jon also believes strongly in the patient-centered model of care.

Matt Braun, CCC-SLP, Director of Patient Outcomes

After earning his Master’s Degree in Clinical Speech-Language Pathology from Northern Arizona University, Matt has worked in the medical setting for about 10 years, with the majority of those years in a rehabilitation hospital. During his career, Matt has not only found the value in building relationships with patients and their families, but also understands the importance of an interdisciplinary team to promote the best possible outcomes for all patients.

After traveling as a speech-language pathologist across the United States for two years, Matt has seen a variety of therapy approaches and management styles. With his advancement to the role of Director of Therapy Operations, Matt is excited to implement what he has learned along his way in providing a supportive and nurturing therapeutic environment.

In his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with his family in a variety of outdoor activities.

Joselyn Fenley, Director of Therapy Services

Joselyn Fenley is our Director of Therapy services. Joselyn brings 30 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist to her team. As a staff OT, she began her career at RHNA as one of the original staff members in February 2018. During her tenure at our hospital, she became Therapy Team Lead before accepting the position as Director. She has been an integral part of developing and maintaining our Joint Commission Disease Specific Certified programs for stroke and brain injury.

When asked about why she enjoys acute rehabilitation, she answers, “I like working with complex patients, specifically patients with strokes, brain injuries, and spinal cord injuries. I love seeing how I can make a difference in their lives.”

Meddie Nazifi, Director of Pharmacy Operations

Meddie Nazifi joins RHNA as our Director of Pharmacy. Meddie hails from Iran (born in the city of Tehran) and completed his degrees at the University of Arizona and University of Phoenix. He comes to RHNA with an extensive background in pharmacy leadership. He has served as the Director of Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Services at: University Medical Center of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas, NV, Bacon Health System in South Bend, IN, and Kirkland (Mamore) in Seattle, WA.

Meddie was drawn to the position at RHNA because of the reputation this hospital has in the Flagstaff community and he is honored to become part of the team of dedicated and skilled clinicians. Meddie enjoys the setting of acute rehabilitation because it gives him the opportunity to help patients recover from debilitating injuries, illnesses, or surgical procedures who require intensive medical services and therapy.

Bridget Fusselman, Director of Compliance

Bridget Fusselman is a Flagstaff native with 11 years of experience in healthcare as a registered nurse, with a background in management, education, and leadership. She has an MSN in leadership and management and has a passion for developing growth in others to increase their skills, knowledge, and performance. Bridget leverages a strong teamwork and leadership background to exceed goals, metrics, and key performance indicators at the individual, team, and organization levels. She strives to provide the best and safest patient care to help others reach their greatest potential.

Bridget enjoys being a wife and mother to her two precious children. As a family, they enjoy spending time together outdoors, on the water, and going on adventures. Making lasting memories with one another is what she and her family appreciate most.

Lorraine Baloo, Human Resources Manager

Lorraine Baloo joined Ernest Health in 2018 and has held various positions such as unit secretary, staffing coordinator, administrative assistant and currently the new HR Manager at Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Arizona. She is a proud member of the Navajo Nation (largest federally recognized tribe in the US). At Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Arizona, she helps the Navajo patient and employee population by developing the Navajo Medical Terminology and Interpreter Program. She dedicates her time and energy to ensuring employees have the best opportunity to excel and advance their careers and skills.

As a single parent for the past 20 years she has worked mostly in the oil field industry as a pipefitter (welder), heavy equipment operator, and project supervisor, in between oil field jobs she has worked at hospitals to gain knowledge and experience in a patient care setting helping her work towards one of her long-term goals. “Finding employment with Ernest Health in 2018 is one the best decisions I have ever made, as it puts me that much closer to one of my lifelong goals. I am always looking for ways to improve and contribute to helping others.”

Outside of work she enjoys spending quality time with her four adult children and family while enjoying the outdoors. She also enjoys sharing her creativity in arts and crafts, painting, jewelry making, rug weaving, and crocheting. After retirement she would like to continue creating beautiful work as a Navajo silversmith.

Marissa Thomas, PT, DPT, Director of Marketing & Business Development

Marissa Thomas joins RHNA as the Director of Marketing and Business Development. She was raised in North Georgia and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia. She then moved to Arizona to complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Midwestern University. She spent time in the valley working as an outpatient Physical Therapist before moving into the marketing and acute rehabilitation space as a Clinical Liaison. Marissa is excited to join the team of dedicated clinicians at RHNA and use her passion for patient care to serve patients in a new way.

Outside of work, Marissa enjoys spending time with her fiancé, dog, and making trips to visit her family back home.

Joshua Miller, Director of Facilities

Joshua (Josh) Miller joins us as Director of Facilities with a wealth of experience in facility management. He is HVAC-R and EPA 608 Certified. His recent accomplishments include completion of a facility condition assessment. Including large format assets being added to a maintenance management software, which aided strategic planning for replacement of critical equipment and infrastructure. He also developed predictive maintenance schedules to take a proactive approach to managing large format assets. Overall he minimized risk to patient care and the financial impacts associated with equipment failures.

Josh came to RHNA to further develop his leadership skills. While working in this regulatory healthcare setting, he looks forward to meeting and working with healthcare professionals from different backgrounds, as well as sharing experience and knowledge with a like-minded team. Josh looks forward to working in this unique setting as part of a leadership team to improve patient care and outcomes by supporting clinical and environmental conditions. He also enjoys seeing results daily as acute rehab improves people’s lives and wellbeing. He is very thankful for the opportunity to support the Flagstaff and surrounding communities in his new role at RHNA.
